This film is inspired by the poem 'Blame the Fox' by the eco-poet Jane Lovell. The poem possessed me for several weeks while I experimented with shooting in various locations. Then one day there was a haar, a sea mist that lasted all day, and I knew immediately that this was the right setting for the poem, echoing as it did the line around which the poem turns - 'Blame us. Born Blind.'
