Jonathan Goldberg’s documentary style short film The Runway Stops Here focuses on Grow Heathrow, an off-grid community and protest site located in the village of Sipson.
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter by Vron Harris was shotin Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses, a community garden in the centre of Lambeth’s Brockwell Park. The charity champions diversity and inclusivity running a garden volunteering scheme, school visits, family events, courses and workshops. The film explores the passing of time, the changing of the seasons and the cycles of life in this precious, green oasis in the heart of South London.
Speaking of his shortlisted film Silbury Hill, Rob Irving said that ‘in winter months, water emerges from several springs adjacent to the hill, filling the basin dug into the chalk used to built it. Symbolically, marshlands represent liminal territory between one state of being and another. Here I have tried to reflect this, quite literally, by the inversion of the image’.
Fabrizio Micchiche’s 4K timelapse of a forest during morning in Spring explores the aesthetic qualities of sun rays and how they move through the forest as the sun rises.
