2021. Georacle, Columbia.
Georacle explores the relationship between the Earth's deep past and its uncertain future through video animation. Using quartz as a transversal element, the work connects the mineral’s geological history with its traditional use in divination.
A rotating quartz crystal ball serves as a lens, refracting and abstracting images of environmental crises through its internal imperfections. These events are transformed into shifting textures that evoke the cyclical nature of geological eras, proposing a physical experience of environmental trauma. Accompanied by the resonant sound of quartz bowls, the piece invites to witness a landscape in transition, filtered through the very material that has witnessed the Earth’s long transformation.
